Where in the world...
South Africa

This is our home country. We have been back here many times as we still have family here. Plenty of pictures from various parts of the country, as well as pictures of the family. To be honest, I'm surprised the camera still works!
Maldives

This is where we went on our belated honeymoon in February 2003. And what a fantastic place it was. There were only about 100 people on the island and you could walk around it in about an hour. The best bit was the dinner for two on the deserted island with our own chef and waiter. Brilliant!
Egypt

We went on holiday here with the Mother-in-law in December 2004. Nice enough place. At the time it wasn't too hot. Did some pretty cool excursions. Saw the "Burning Bush" (check the Bible), had a pretty rough trip on some camels. And watched as our desert tour guide tried to commit suicide by throwing himself off his quad bike. Also notable for me getting as sick as a dog. What a fun trip home that was!
Cyprus

This was our first venture out of the UK as a couple in June 2001. Exceptionally hot. After a few days we looked like lobsters on a bad day. Had a few good excursions. Went to Aphrodite's cave, which was a long way for not a lot. Adonis' Hole, which is giant pool in the mountains was really cool. And the ship breaking down in the middle of another trip was exciting. I mean how often do you get to experience a ship-to-ship transfer? Also managed to take in a trip into the boonies and eat some locally prepared dishes and saw the divided city of Nicosia. Did I mention it was hot?
Spain

We went to Mallorca with our golf society in 2005. Quite a nice place with some fantastic paella. Golf was shocking though. Really beautiful places along the coast. Mrs has managed to take some really good pictures here. It was a bit chilly in October, but I think we would go back again some day.
Italy

Mr was sent here as part of project back in 2002 and got to live here for 3 months. So we did a little sight seeing, but in a Smart you can't really go too far. Did take in some pretty places north along the coast from Rome. Those Italian drivers. Only place we've ever seen where a 4 lane highway has actually had 6 1/2 lanes of traffic. Bastardo!!!
France

The one place we keep going back to. It all started back in 2001 when Mrs was working on a project in Paris. Mr would go out every weekend. Then in 2002 we both managed to end up on the project and were sent there for a whole year. Us and our friend Tannie, spent an awful amount of time and money in Le Soubise, a brasserie in St Germain. Since then we have been to Rheims, Dinnard-St Malo, Deauville-Honfleur, Etretat, the Loire Valley and Arras (as well as a few places in between). We might actually end up with a house here. Good food, good wine, good life. Just a pity we don't actually speak French so bon!
Switzerland

Mrs took her Mom here in 2007. Mr has only managed to wander through Geneva airport. Not a lot to say on this really, it's Switzerland!
Jamaica

Jamaica? No she went on her own. Ahh, the old ones are the best. We went here in 2006 I think. What a disappointment. Even the weather was rubbish. To be fair, we had high expectations, and to be honest it was never going to be like the Maldives. We did get to see how the Jamaicans "drive". Saw some really cool sights (the waterfall springs to mind) and played some pretty good golf. Also heard an awful amount of Bob Marley. Ya maan!
Mexico

We came here in Feb 2007. In particular, to Mazatlan on the Pacific coast. This was the closest thing to perfection we have found so far as we very nearly bought a place here. Beautiful beaches, amazing golf and SO relaxing. Plenty of excursions. The trip to the tequila farm obviously being the highlight. Mrs saw dolphins just yards from the beach. Mr saved a baby turtle. Ola Fred! One of the few places we would happily go back to.
US - Colorado

Visited this part of the US in August 2007. So far this has been the best area of the States we have been to. Wide open spaces, with the Rocky Mountains as a backdrop. Relaxed, calm, beautiful, serene. Did a road trip which took in Denver, Fort Collins, Glenwood Springs, Aspen, Buena Vista and Colorado Springs. Did white water rafting with our guide Chris. Played two of the most amazing golf courses. Arrowhead and Lakota Canyon. And nearly got frazzled by the biggest bolt of lightning I've ever heard.
US - Illinois

We went sent to Chicago for a project in 2006 which was supposed to last a year and a bit. We ended up staying for only 3 months, but wow. What an introduction to the US. Chicago is great a city, and the surrounding suburbs are great too. Plenty of food (America knows how to dish up). Great sights and plenty to do. Best of all (as this was our first time), hailing a taxi just like in the movies. Sears Tower and Hancock Center. Magnificent Mile. The fireworks display over the river for something. Wrigley Field and the Cubs. Best hot dog ever. No argument.
US - Michigan

Mrs was sent here for a project in 2007. As nice as Chicago was, we felt Detroit was bad. Would never want to live there or even go there again. Sorry! We did drive from Detroit back to Chicago, and the trip was a nice one. Some really good places on the way. St Joseph on the shores of Lake Michigan was nice.
US - South Carolina

This was meant to be a three week road trip in 2007 taking in a number of States, but we cut this short for the company (aren't we the best?). Arrived at Atlanta, Georgia (terrible airport) and picked up my beloved Mustang (disappointing) and drove to Myrtle Beach. Now if ever a town was created for one thing this was it. If you didn't golf, you were s**t out of luck for anything else to do. Nice courses though. We then drove to Charleston. This was fantastic. Place right on the water, near town. Lots of history and charm. Even got onto the aircraft carrier Yorktown and saw a re-enactment of a Civil War battle. How cool is that??
United Kingdom

Well, this what we call home now. Not the nicest place we've ever been to. But it does pay for all the other fantastic holidays. Been to a few places around the country, but as it is cheaper to go to France, why holiday here? I did have my Mercedes SLK for a few months. We got married here too. I became British. Can't wait to leave...
